General Notification re: Standard Annual Fee Increase For 2019

In an effort to keep counselling / psychotherapy affordable, this practice has again managed to keep our fees for 2019 in line with the average fee across 3 of the larger medical aid schemes (i.e., Discovery, GEMS and Bonitas). This is in contrast to many other specialist health professions who usually set fees at 300% (or more) higher than medical aid scheme rates. If we claim directly from your medical aid scheme on your behalf, we will continue to only charge the fee allowed by your medical aid scheme so that you are not burdened by any ‘co-payments’.

Please contact the practice for a more detailed fee structure (ksuter@iafrica.com and/or 0824947212)

Clients are able to make payment in 2 ways:

OPTION 1: Payment via cash or EFT in full on or before each consultation

Clients will be emailed an account statement reflecting their payment which they can submit to their medical aid scheme for reimbursement if they wish. Late payments will be charged at the HealthMan 2019 rates which are considerably higher than our standard fee (see www.healthman.co.za/Tariffs/). Please note that we cannot accept payments by cheque, credit card or debit card at this time.

OPTION 2: Request this practice to submit claims directly to your medical aid scheme

This option is only possible when your medical aid scheme is linked to the software we use. If this practice submits claims directly to your medical aid scheme, then the fee charged will be exactly the same as the fee permitted by your particular medical aid scheme. This option is subject to the availability of the client’s medical aid scheme funds and/or benefits for psychological services. Each medical aid scheme determines their own rates and conditions. If a medical aid scheme claim is rejected/not paid within 30 days, then option 1 will automatically be followed. Please note that the responsibility rests on the client to contact their medical aid scheme to enquire about the benefits their medical aid scheme plan provides for psychological treatment.
